ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

As ranking member of the Environmental Conservation Committee, Brad has been a leader on key environmental issues. He held the Senate's first-ever legislative forum on climate change and he hosts a regular series of public "Conservation Conversations" in his Senate District. EPL/Environmental Advocates named Brad their 2015 "Legislator of the Year" due to his willingness to "stand up to big polluters and their allies in Albany."

SUPPORTS the Climate and Community Protection Act, a comprehensive legislative solution to combat human-induced climate change.

SUPPORTS strengthening regulations to keep potentially harmful chemicals out of drinking water, children's products, and consumer goods.

SUPPORTS fully funding the State's Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) at a level of at least $300 million annually.

OPPOSES efforts to divert proceeds from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) program for anything other than their intended use of investing in clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

OPPOSES the practice of hydrofracking and the disposal of out-of-state fracking waste in New York's landfills and on its roadways.
